promoting your event
Spread the word!
Get online
The first step is to set up a fundraising page on a site like Just Giving. Then send your page to friends and family, making it really easy for them to sponsor you. You could also put a link to your fundraising page on your email signature at work. Post about your event on Facebook and Twitter
Share photos and videos on Instagram
Send your link to your contacts via whatsapp
Snapchat your training story and link to your Just Giving page
If you are doing a big challenge like a trek, you could even start a blog about your fundraising journey
Make sure that you keep your friends updated with photos of you training or fundraising. Add them to your fundraising page and re-share on social media – when your friends are kept updated and see you in action, they’ll be more likely to donate!
Think local
Order some of our event posters and put them up in shops, community centres, libraries and at work.
Contact local newspapers and radio stations to tell them about your fundraising. Ask for your event to feature in any free listing or 'What's On' sections of local papers or local council websites.
After your event, let local media know how much money you raised and send them pictures so they can write a follow up piece about your event.
Many donations come in after the event so remember to re-share your JustGiving page as a last reminder.
