A new member of the four paws family
Introducing our New Campaigns Assistant
It's always a pleasure to bring someone new onto the team, to grow our strength, and to enable us to better use the incredibly kind donations from our supporters. So, this calls for a celebration and we're taking the time to introduce Daisy Sopel, our new Campaigns Assistant. Here's what she had to say about her love for animals and joining the FOUR PAWS team:
Animal welfare has been a lifelong passion of mine and my main focus for as long as I can remember. I have been volunteering in animal shelters and wildlife rescues for almost a decade and continue to do so in my spare time. My biggest goal is to ensure people treat animals with the respect and empathy they deserve. From megafauna like elephants and rhinos, down to the worms and beetles beneath our feet – each animal deserves our respect and plays their own vital role within their ecosystem. I am passionate about educating others, and I know that each person can make a difference – whether it be by reducing meat consumption, teaching their friends why they shouldn’t ride elephants on their upcoming holiday, or looking a bit deeper into the puppy breeder they’re about to buy from; we all have the power to improve welfare for animals.
I have been a supporter of FOUR PAWS for years - I even did a presentation on them and the work they do alongside other animal welfare charities during my Animal Behaviour and Welfare Degree. I love being able to keep up with the animals they have rescued, such as Marion the declawed lioness and Kaavan the loneliest elephant, and it’s been heart-warming to watch their journeys and see them flourish in their new homes. To now be a part of FOUR PAWS UK and assisting their campaigns is a real dream come true, and I can’t wait to play my part in improving animal welfare!
