The Harsh Reality of Angora Wool
As our Wear It Kind campaign continues to expand, we come across angora wool as our next instalment
Not to be confused with mohair that is sourced from angora goats, this luxury wool is instead the result of exploiting angora rabbits for their thick and fluffy coats.
Although soft to the touch, angora wool has a reality that is much coarser. To provide this fashion option, rabbits are often kept in cruel conditions which can cause many of them to develop infections: this living situation also prevents them from living out many of their natural behaviours.
The shearing process is also incredibly stressful for the rabbits, sometimes even including the fur being torn off by hand with no pain relief. Unfortunately, this can even lead to the rabbits having heart attacks.

More Compassion in Fashion
Angora rabbits will continue to suffer for fashion as long as there is a demand for this wool. Here, we can make a stand.
Take our Wear It Kind pledge, today, and show that you want a world that doesn’t include the suffering of animals in its wardrobe.
