"Frustratingly, despite sailing through the House of Commons earlier this year with the backing of MPs across all political parties, the Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill has stalled after being held hostage in the House of Lords last week by a handful of pro-hunting Peers set on thwarting the wishes of both Government and Parliament.
This is a devastating result that will impact at-risk and endangered animals around the world, which completely goes against the wishes of over 80% of the voting public who support the Prime Minister to get the ban done.
We urge the Government to seize control of the political agenda and bring this Bill back in the next Parliamentary session to ensure delivery of their manifesto commitment and finally end the UK’s complicity in the cruel trophy hunting industry."
